What it’s really like to live under construction 24/7.

Most people think of a fixer upper they think I nice old house that needs work.

Ha.

Lets just say. It’s the gift that keeps on giving.

When I first moved into my house I was 19, with a newborn baby.

Our home was inherited by my late Grandmother. It was more of a storage place for both of our families.

It had heat, water, electric. It had cable people.

I’m starting to think it was a little more sentimental to other people as well. Not just me.

We would fly back and forth evey week. ( I traveled for work).

New plumbing. New electric. New roofing.

Whats a turn Key?

Mason would stay at the 4 seasons and eat at the Mandrin At two, To come home to a house that had no floors or ceilings. It was insane.

Im so lucky I had/ have so many close friends to help me along the way. You have to remember I’m 18-19. Not a lot of funding there 😂 I didn‘t Know how to start a lawnmower.

So this summer, well last two summers now. We had a small but major renovation done on our kitchen and we literally living out of our upstairs room, the three of us. It was a decent size and had a small kitchen off the side. Going back and forth between that and my parents. Can you feel the excitment??!!

Me showering in a tub ( we had no shower yet) while my friends brother ( friends of my family) is painting right outside my window. Like. Can you even imagine. 😂 I can handle that. But could my kids?

Not the shower part. But at what point do you call it quits?

I realize now now that my children have and most likely will grow up in a home constantly under construction.

We take Days off. We enjoy eachothers company. We travel, eat out once a week as a family at least. I guess it’s just a journey, and this is ours.

Do I live under constant stress where orders are wrong and leaks after ceilings have just been installed. Yes. Quite frequently.

But this is us. This is our life. I hope that if they take anything away from this is that they watch a mom, their mother prove to them that you can tackle and achieve anything, if you put your mind to it.
