Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday with Family and Friends. During the holidays while entertaining and having company we always lead back to the hub of our home, which is the Kitchen.
If your thinking of a renovation or just want some inspiration, there are alot of new products out their (i.e. smart home, everything ) and just every day things that we are now by the masses getting to enjoy that I never thought would be possible.
What a time to be alive.

So if you are in the market for a new kitchen, upgrading or starting from scratch, do your research. There are ALOT of funky new accessories to have in your home that will make your home work so much more smoothly.

When installing silverware drawers. Think french, I like to keep in an vintage velvet box cutlery out and visible. Not only is it readily available, but it looks pretty too.
If you are going all out and doing full on counter replacement, think of a contractor who could go custom and build a vertical silverware drawer that pulls outward.

Don't forget to plan. I recommend if its possible and your city has a building department go to their records divison and try to see if you can get the blueprints to your home.
When you are starting from scratch think of things that we currently use now that may make your life easier. I recommend installing outlets with USB charges at frequent high traffic areas as much as possible. We don't know how long USB will be what we are using for charging. But you can find them relatively inexpensive at your local Hardware Store and they can be easily removed and updated if needed.

Make your kitchen your own, know what you like and make it work for you. It's a place where the family gathers and where friends congregate so whatever your budget or style, make it yours.

And last but certainly not least, is one of my favorites. And it has to be butcher block countertops. You can partially use it by your stove or oven where it's convenient to chop fruits and vegetables right by your work station. People are now finding ways to get out of the cookie cutter box kitchen designs that we've been so accustomed to, and start making design work for them. Which is exactly what it is supposed to do.
