I don’t know about you growing up but we had two attics. Weird I know.

Our home one was originally a one story house and Before my parents got married and settled Down and had a family, the original owners added an upstairs.

So we had four bedrooms Just off of one landing. They were huge. And both just unused.

We we used to have this doll that was really crazy. I’m talking clairabelle and we would tell kids that came over (new friends) it was our sister and our Mom Locked her in there. Bahaha we were evil.

So after my grandmother came to live with us we decided to have the attic redone.

Being the oldest, leader, and just favorite child. Naturally I got it.

I was a total total spoiled brat. I mean what kid gets the master bedroom.

Skipping skipping, a good friend of ours and business partner of my fathers was an architect and he helped let me “design“ it. I think I got to pick if I wanted a closet or a bathroom.

So naturally being a teen girl. I picked the closet.

This is where my love affair with design and architecture began.

For Christmas I got designing software. ( that similar to auto CAD ) really weird but I was super anal and I actually loved using it. That and sims game.

Now having my own home, where I’ve lived almost as long as I did at my parents. ( if your guessing my age I left young. Think Dougie Houser. )

I’m finding that there are just so many areas of our house that just has so much space thats not being used. It doesn’t even have to be expensive. Just used properly.

So. We all have stuff. Clothes from certain seasons. Decorations. Stacks upon stacks of hand made macoroni pictures and hand prints :) How do we store this things?

Well. This is where I like to get hmm what’s a good word here. Creative.

Lots of good will shops have incredible armoirs. We have at least 3 in our attic. They are a great way to store clothes out of season and just look clean.

Some thinfs that I’ve found on Pinterest are soooooo chic. They have this little brooklyn bohemian feel. You can store almost anything in them. Linens. Books. And you can match them to your decor.

I think my all time favorite is by Designer whom of which has a blog that I will feature in my next post, but how amazing is this?

They redid their playroom. I mean I wanna hang out in there.

It’s got the whole Chronicles of Narnia Feel going on.

So that’s one solution.

Two.

You know all those crawl spaces in between the ceiling and your attic floor. Go to Walmart buy 15 tupperware totes (they’re 5 dollars right now) and fill those bad boys up and slide them in there. Problem solved.

Now comes the fun Part.

Decorating. But your gonna have to wait til my next post because I have to finish mine!

Enjoy your evenings lovelies. ♥️

It‘s almost Friday.
